"The team has traditionally traveled to Florida every other year to play spring games for the varsity team to get them ready for the season," said Keith Meerholz. "The goal is to try to raise enough money to be able to travel every year. Plus golf is a great way to get people together for a fun day.

Chris Berry, Jerry Piemonte, Rich Burke and others started the outing last year.

The 2016 edition will take place on Sept. 26 at Black Bear Golf Course (138 Route 23) in Franklin, N.J.

Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and is followed by a Continental breakfast.

There is a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Prizes will be awarded to the golfer who hits the longest drive and is closest to the pin.

The cost is $150, which includes the breakfast, 18 holes, a cart, a barbecue lunch and prizes.
